How to Figure Out What Platform Your Website Was Built On

🔍 Option 1: Use Online Tools

  • Enter your website URL and click search.
  • The tool will detect the CMS or platform used (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, etc.)

🔍 Option 2: Use Browser Extensions

  • Install a tool like Wappalyzer (Chrome extension)
  • Visit your website
  • Click the extension icon to see the platform and technologies used

🔍 Option 3: Check the Page Source

  1. Visit your website
  1. Right-click and select View Page Source
  1. Look for clues like:
      • wp-content → WordPress
      • cdn.squarespace.com → Squarespace
      • wix.com or wixstatic.com → Wix
  1. Look for URLs: pointing to specific platform domains (e.g., shopify.comwix.com). 

🔍 Option 4: Check the Page Source

  1. Footer:
    1. Many websites display their platform or website builder in the footer, often with phrases like "Powered by [Platform Name]" or "Made with [Platform Name]".

  1. URL Subdomains:
    1. Some platforms offer free domains with subdomains (e.g., yourwebsite.dorik.com), which can be a giveaway.
